It was deliciously cold this morning: 27 degrees. (Go ahead, you Midwesterners, laugh at me. But this IS California, after all.) I woke up to the little dog curled up tightly in his bed…and my husband outside in shirt sleeves and wet hair — taking photographs of ice and frost. Brrrr. Even the sunlight looked cold this morning…icy blue and shivering. I grabbed my camera too (well, eventually; after reveling in the warm covers for an rather lovely amount of time), but didn’t leave the warm house. No sirree bob. Instead, I stayed inside and took some photos of lovely baby clothes. Ohhhh, I can’t wait to put a tiny little human into these clothes!

baby taylor models the striped flower hat (and shows off her cute cheeks)
just yesterday i wrote that i haven’t been able to see many of the little people wearing that hats i’ve crocheted. and then my sweet friend christi (alas, she has no blog!) sent me this precious photo of her little taylor wearing the striped flower hat i made for her.
but it’s not that hat that is making my heart stop. it’s those cheeks! is she not the cutest thing?!
LIFE IN PHOTOS :: move over, anthropologie. 26:PM is making giant letters.
Remember when I said, “I think our house is in need of some giant letters“? Well, why let Anthropologie have all the fun? We’re making this happen. (And by me, I actually mean 26:PM, who actually just tweeted a photo of the work in progress).
[UPDATE: See another, better, photo of the giant cardboard letters here.]

If you don’t want to go through all the work to make these by hand, you can also buy premade papier macheΒ 3D cardboard letters.

NaBloPoMo (bless you!), vintage rickrack, and yarn
this month, i’m joining a lot of other bloggers in national blog post month — that is, trying to blog at least once a day throughout november.Β apparently, the cringe-worthy abbreviation for this event is NaBloPoMo.Β this is not to be confused with NaNoWriMo, the novel-writing event.Β let’s just say…i hope the folks who came up with that are better at crafting sentences than they are at inventing acronyms.
speaking of crafting, here’s a little snapshot of a current project involving yarn scraps and vintage rickrack.
