Launch of Oaxacaborn Etsy Shop – Whimsical Creature-Adorned Hats and Boho Headbands
I launched my new Etsy store this morning! I’m super excited to offer headbands and hats — and yup, there’s even something for the boys. I’ll be listing more boy’s owl hats soon in addition to what’s currently in the shop.
A huge thank you to everyone who’s been tweeting about the shop launch today — the headbands in the photo above have already sold!
Pretty Little Flowers
It’s naptime, so this is happening now — a delightful little mess on my table. The Etsy store launch is getting closer and closer! I’m surrounded by a heap of fabric scraps, elastic headbands, feathers, thread and yarn. [Update: Oaxacaborn on Etsy is live! I love making these whimsical creature hats & boho headbands.]
In the background, Coldplay’s single, Every Teardrop is a Waterfall, is playing softly. Who else is super excited for the October release of their newest album?!

baby taylor models the striped flower hat (and shows off her cute cheeks)
just yesterday i wrote that i haven’t been able to see many of the little people wearing that hats i’ve crocheted. and then my sweet friend christi (alas, she has no blog!) sent me this precious photo of her little taylor wearing the striped flower hat i made for her.
but it’s not that hat that is making my heart stop. it’s those cheeks! is she not the cutest thing?!

Last Easter, we bought grandma this owl ring. She rocks it, huh?
Then this week, I was reading the newest Soul Flower catalog (which is amazing, by the way) and I couldn’t take my eyes off this lovely owl skirt:
The inspiration was too much, so I created a little baby owl beanie. [Update: You can now purchase baby and toddler owl hats at my Etsy shop.]
