It’s true, Google Reader is disappearing on July 1.

Are you still reading this blog in Google Reader? Eep! I’d hate for you to be suddenly disconnected from Oaxacaborn when Google Reader is no more. (Each of you is so important to me! It’s sounds cheesy, but it’s true.)

Fortunately, you don’t have to start over from scratch. You can easily move all the content you currently have in Google Reader — all the blogs and RSS feeds you already follow — into Feedly! Feedly offers a one-click Google Reader import.

Alright Google Reader users, I’ll give you a moment to switch over to Feedly now….

…well, that was quick and painless, wasn’t it?

Oh, wait. Maybe the above didn’t apply to you.

Maybe you didn’t ever use Google Reader, but want to start using Feedly now. Go here, click on “+add to my feedly”, then follow the prompts.
Maybe you already use Feedly, but you haven’t subscribed to this blog. Add Oaxacaborn to Feedly!
Maybe you’re a lover of Bloglovin’. That’s okay too. Follow Oaxacaborn with Bloglovin‘!
Maybe you’re not a fan of all this techy stuff. Maybe you simply want each new blog post to be sent straight to your inbox. Get Oaxacaborn updates via email!
Maybe you’re a borderline stalker. Maybe you’re an internet junkie. Maybe all this just isn’t enough. Ok, I also update the Oaxacaborn Facebook page, @gmunsey on Twitter and @oaxacaborn on Instagram regularly. And Pinterest too.

I’m going to make a wild assumption here. I’m going to jump to the conclusion that if you have liked the Oaxacaborn page on Facebook, you actually want to see the updates I post there.

Facebook did not make the same assumption, and as it stands now, they decide what you get to read from me. Hey, at least it’s not the NSA deciding, right?

Bad joke aside, here’s how you can change a simple Facebook setting to see all updates, and make sure you’re not missing out on any posts!

Once you’re on the Oaxacaborn Facebook page —

Click on LIKED
Click on SETTINGS
Click on ALL UPDATES.

Babiekins Print Issue 2 - Available on newsstands 24 June 2013 Mark your calendars, ladies and gents! I’m excited to announce the newest PRINT issue of Babiekins Magazine is set to hit newsstands June 24! It’ll be available ’round the world (Barnes & Nobles, Books-a-Million, and select Target stores in the US), but if you can’t find a copy in your part of the globe, let me know and I’ll help you find one.

For this issue, I interviewed some of my very favorite Instagram mamas — Whitney Reeder @whitneyreeder, Deborah Gordon @apieceofcake82, and Claire Moir @dancelittleliar (thank you ladies!)

I also talked with Sue Kleine @sueshine about her precious autistic daughter Sammy Lu in one of the most heartwarming interviews I’ve ever had the privilege to be a part of. On the fashion front, I chatted with Katherine of the American children’s label Wovenplay — and oh yes, Aveline’s airline travel antics make an appearance in these pages too.

And the photography this time around? Just plain-old gorgeous. Wait until you see Deb Schwedhelm’s editorial!

There’s more, but I wouldn’t want to spoil all the surprises, would I? Suffice to say the amazing people who put this issue together are quite possibly the most talented and creative magazine team out there (why yes, I am biased.) I’m so delighted to be a part of a project like this!

Thanks to these images from Toast UK’s Spring/Summer 2013 Home+Home Catalogue, I’m dreaming of a nice seaside picnic — one that involves crusty bread and jam. And maybe a nap in a breezy riad, waking up to Moroccan mint tea before a boat ride where I just sit on a heap of cushions and don’t have to row at all.

Hey, there aren’t any rules against dreaming, right? :)

I love bunting. I do. I don’t care if it’s viewed as overdone or trendy; it makes me happy and adds a bit of bright happiness to any wall. In our house, there’s bunting in Aveline’s room (of course), the bathroom, over the laundry area and even in the kitchen! So, naturally, I found myself drawn to these images from photographer Petra Bindel. She’s an incredible photographer; I’ve scrolled through this gallery several times today. Gorgeous!
