DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT :: TrΓ¨s Γ©lΓ©gant! French Children’s Clothing from Le Carrousel

I was very excited when Marie-Laure Renier of Le Carrousel emailed me this week with a preview of her Fall/Winter children’s collection. She designs each of the classically French garments to give the impression that “the glamour and perfume of Paris raise from each piece”, and I think she achieves that very well. TrΓ¨s Γ©lΓ©gant!Β

Oh, and don’t miss this charming little video. The music is beautiful — Aveline started dancing around the living room when I played it.

The handmade collection, which includes clothing for boys, girls, and babies as well as accessories, will be available in the Le Carrousel shop soon. Thank you so much for sharing, Ml. Renier! Now I want those stripey socks and shoes in my size. ;)

Which is your favorite piece in this collection?

What I Wore :: Thrifted Edition

Thifted blue lands-end tank with vintage thrifted crochet lace collar

1. Thrifted Lands End tank top
2. Thrifted handmade crochet lace collar (pinned on with safety pins so I can remove it to wash the tank)

You too can have this outfit, if…what?! You mean you don’t have a mother who mails you boxes full of fun clothes and sewing notions? Oh.

What I Wore

It’s been way too long since I’ve done a What I Wore post! (Where did the summer go?!)

Not that I’m complaining — the end of August is shaping up beautifully. Aveline is napping after loudly fighting sleep, and the sunshine of the morning has faded into cozy dark grey clouds. Josiah’s working on art next to me, and we’re both listening to Coldplay’s lesser-known Prospekt March EP. Pretty perfect if you ask me!

What are you up to today?

  2. Technically, a vintage belt. (Although, it’s the same age I am, and I’m decidedly not vintage)
  3. Wooden bracelet from Paraguay
  4. Dickies tank
  5. Old Navy shorts

my first-ever ‘what i wore’ post.

what i wore: oaxacaborn blog feature

just over a week ago, dani ofΒ sometimes sweet shared about blogging goals, and encouraged others to set simple goals. around the same time, my mom emailed me a link to money saving mom‘s five necessary traits of successful bloggers. these two things really inspired me to start a more regular posting schedule, and incorporate more topics into my blog. so, here’s my first-ever what i wore post! i’m considering making thisΒ a weekly blog feature.

top: hand-me-down from my lovely sister
leggings: jcpenney clearance rack (they’re actually a dark gray, not black like they appear in the photo.)
hair: it’s been almost a year since i got my hair cut, so the sloppy bun has become a habit with me. just another reason i need to make an appointment to get this cut.

pretty little dresses from modcloth — inspired by lottie loves

each friday, lottie of the vintage fashion blog lottie loves posts about pretty dresses. it’s all part of a campaign she’s started called think frock, it’s friday! in order to encourage women to wear dresses at least once a week. dresses are so inherently feminine by their very nature, and i think it’s wonderful that she is inspiring women to wear dresses. here are a few little things i spied over at modcloth.com today. aren’t they pretty?
