MONDAY’S PRETTY THINGS :: Whimsical Coral

Sometimes these Monday’s Pretty Things posts practically write themselves. So many things I bookmarked this week shared the same shade of coral!

calm neutral bedroom via an-magritt This is the bedroom of blogger An-Magritt’s daughter. Isn’t it light and lovely? It truly may be the most beautiful room I have seen in a long, long time. It’s definitely worth seeing the other photos of the bedroom, here. So, so wonderful! A perfect use of pastels.

MONDAY’S PRETTY THINGS :: Here’s to 2012

It’s been too long since I posted an edition of “Monday’s Pretty Things”. Let’s start this year off with a short list — just two photos. (It’s still a list if there are only two things, right?)

I love winter scenes like this one, which at first glace look as though they’ve been shot in black and white.  Such an achingly beautiful stand of birch trees.

The pure light in this next image is so clean and beautiful, a bright contrast to the cloudy, grey day above. Plus, I was especially attracted to this photograph because of the colors — mustard (of course!) against white.

Want to see more pretty things? I don’t blame you…two images barely whets your appetite for inspiration! ;)

Anthropologie tour via iPhone Photos

Sis(in-law) Hannah and I went to Anthropologie last week — can you believe it was my first time there since I moved to Florida at the end of February?! Too ridiculous. I used to go all the time when we lived in California, and I definitely want to get back in the habit.

As you can see, I was shamelessly enthusiastic and clicked a bunch of snapshots with my phone. (Click to see all fifteen photos.)

I saw the above photo on Pinterest, and then went over to Lovely Little Details to see more. Oh my goodness! What a stunning party. You must view the other stunning baby shower images. I’ve never seen anything like it!

These whimsical creatures caught my eye. Aren’t they fun? Umbrella Prints hosted a contest to see what people would make from fabric trimmings. I loved these little animals; check out the other beautiful projects fashioned from fabric scraps.

I really like Hmong textiles. (Did you see the adorable Hmong baby outfit I posted a while ago?) This pretty bag was sewn from a vintage Hmong baby carrier. There are so many more amazing Hmong textile bags in this Etsy shop — go look! I wanted to post them all.

I saw this Thai embroidered bag on Bloesem Kids. It’s a photo from one of the many gorgeous nurseries/kids’ rooms styled by Dutch interior designer KinderKamer. I love her portfolio — she has so many good ideas!

One thing I really miss about California is the lavender growing everywhere. There are few aromas more beautiful than the smell of fresh lavender, hot under the valley sun. Isn’t this picture from Fuori Borgo just gorgeous?

And finally, from Ruffled, these lavender bouquets are some of the loveliest wedding bouquets I’ve seen! I think the burlap and twine pairs absolutely perfectly with the lavender.

Stay tuned next week for more of Monday’s Pretty Things!
