We recently starting getting Dwell magazine, and I’ve so been enjoying the creativity and design in each issue. Can you believe these two photos are of the same house in Adelaide, Australia? The back is unapologetically modern, and the front is an 1880’s bungalow! So clever.
Wow. Have you seen the Djeco website? Djeco is a Paris-based children’s toy and game company, and their site is just too cool to keep to myself! Take a few moments to click around the interactive screens, the details will surprise and delight you.

Despite the many, many miles between America and Europe, I believed she was right next to me, inside that tape player.
This morning, as Josiah was trying to eat breakfast, Aveline sat down next to him.
“Bo’? bo’?” she asked him eagerly, holding out her very own copy.
So right now, I’m listening to him read it
over
and over
and over again to her.
A different country. A different voice. The same story. The same memories.

A fun[ny] aspect of living in the tropics is the rather large collection of swimsuits little Miss Alenka has amassed! Today we have the purple one-piece, tied in the back with a headband off of mama’s hair, covered with a ruffled swim diaper, accessorized by pink sunnies, a paisley paci clip, a whole lotta Burt’s Bees sunsreen, and a sandy María.
Eh, it works. ;)

In case you couldn’t tell from the photo, Aveline and I are back in Florida. We enjoyed a few glorious weeks in the California sunshine with our incredible family. I love them so and it certainly was hard to leave them all behind again (but wonderful to be back with Josiah!)

Annnnnd….I’ve saved the best for last. :-D The summer issue of Babiekins Magazine was just released a couple of days ago, and I’m thrilled to say that not only have I joined the editorial team as Copy Editor…I’ve also written a little something about my childhood adventures! I’m still giddy over seeing my work illustrated by the talented Gigi Rose Gray.
