is it just me, or does my fresh-squeezed pink grapefruit juice look like pepto-bismol? i’m going with a resounding yes.
this was part of my breakfast this morning. no, my breakfast doesn’t always look like that, but it was the protocol for the postprandial one-hour glucose study. (how’s that for a mouthful?!) my favourite part of the morning was how incredibly confused the lab was about my eating real food instead of drinking glucola. apparently there isn’t a proper medical billing code for eating real food.
that just makes me laugh.

tonight has been a little sleepy. i’m tired. it’s a natural part of being in the third trimester, i know, but i sure wish i had more energy. oh well, ‘they’ tell me i will only get more and more tired as time goes on, with a tiny baby paying no attention to the difference between night and day. my dear mother, though, was so encouraging today when we were talking on the phone. she told me how the late night feedings were actually quiet and peaceful, and not chaotic at all.
i can’t wait to experience the wonder of holding out little girl in my arms, and actually seeing her precious face. i thank God every day for this amazing miracle. just 9 more weeks now until my due date.
you expected this, right? i mean, i can’t resist any Toast UK catalogue. but Toast UK+Christmas? ahhh, lovely. this Christmas edition is absolutely dreamy. i’m perusing it while eating gluten-free pumpkin scones, but now after seeing all these Christmas-y pictures, i am feeling an immediate need to go make some hot cocoa or peppermint tea.
