INSPIRATION :: Listen to ‘Winter’ from John Smiths’ album ‘The Fox and the Monk’

The Fox and the Monk by John Smith
“Once upon a time
One day a baby was born
And on that day it rained like it had never
Rained before
Kings were there in human form
They came around from everywhere
To see his first born
In the winter
The ancient man in hallowed halls
Said he’s the one who saves us all
He’s the one of whom I’ve been told
I was there
I was there
In the winter
In the winter

The king bowed low
Laid down his sword….” -John Smith

One of my Very Favorite Songs from the New Josh Garrels Album

If you haven’t downloaded Josh Garrels’ brand-new (FREE!) album “Love & War”, what are you waiting for?!

“Farther Along” – Josh Garrels

“Farther along we’ll know all about it
Farther along we’ll understand why
Cheer up my brothers, live in the sunshine
We’ll understand this, all by and by…

…So much more to life than we’ve been told
It’s full of beauty that will unfold
And shine like you struck gold my wayward son
That deadweight burden weighs a ton
Go down into the river and let it run
And wash away all the things you’ve done
Forgiveness alright…”

The Essential Bob Dylan Album Cover

“Yes, to dance beneath the diamond sky with one hand waving free
Silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands…
Let me forget about today until tomorrow
Hey! Mr. Tambourine Man, play a song for me
I’m not sleepy and there is no place I’m going to.”

listen to this song

what you at my gentle spoken friend
i lack a frame to put you in
when you’re an ocean and a rock away

i feel you in the pocket of my overcoat
my fingers wrap around your words
they take the shape of games we play

i feed your words through my buttonholes
pin them to my fingerless gloves
green and prone to fraying

“Sitting on porches
Since Friday while the sky
Tilts like a watery glass
We wait for downpours
A drenching joy
A carnival sky
But what I don’t say
What I can’t say
Is that with this joy Continue reading ““i pray light will leak from our pockets” -josh garrels [listen!]”
