“Looking into another world
That is this world, the pale daylight
Coming just as before, our chores
To do, the cattle all awake,
Our own frozen breath hanging
In front of us; and we are here
As we have never been before,
Sighted as not before, our place
Holy, although we knew it not.”
-Wendell Berry, from the Revelation and Renewal of all Things
This busy season, let us all have courage —
courage to slow down enough to see the holiness all around us,
courage to let go and hold on to Jesus,
courage to look away from productivity long enough for our eyes to truly see the everyday miracles we take for granted,
and courage to count it all — even the trials and tribulations — as joy.
In the words of the ancient nativity prayer, “Oh God, you make us glad!”
Merry Christmas, friends.
A very Merry Christmas and scrumptiously-fabulicious New Year to you, Josiah, Gina & delightful Aveline!

P.S; what is that you are standing in front of, Aveline? Looks like a giant Aloe Vera plant! Hope it is a friendly one :)
