MONDAY’S PRETTY THINGS :: An Antidote for Stormy Weather

How’s the weather where you are? I’m definitely appreciating coffee this morning, as we were woken repeatedly last night because of Tropical Storm Isaac-induced 50mph winds and rains. (Three cheers for Aveline, who quickly fell back asleep on her own each time she awoke!) This morning it’s oddly dark; the thick cloud cover isn’t letting a bit of light in. The scene is very much the opposite of the above image!

Squalls are expected to continue throughout the day today, so to counteract the dark rain beating against the windows — and before we lose power! Josiah just texted to tell me there is a partial power outage at work — I thought I’d share a lineup of things which are nice and calming. Pretty things such as…

Paris Map Illustrated by Josie Portillo…this lovely paris map, drawn by Josie Portillo. Can you believe it’s the first map Josie has ever illustrated?
Sophie Digard Linen Blanket with Dots via Makie Clothier as seen on Oaxacaborn dot com…this handmade dotted linen blanket, designed by Sophie Digard and available on Makie Clothier.

Vintage wallpaper showing Paris streetscapes, via SmileMercantile on Etsythis vintage wallpaper of the streets of Paris, via Smile Mercantile on Etsy. I think it would look charming covering a single wall in a guest room — you know, in that dream world where we all have an extra room to decorate in Parisian vintage decor. :)

Hope your Monday is lovely, friends!

P.S. If you enjoyed this edition of Monday’s Pretty Things, you might want to have a little look at some of these, too.
