didn’t anyone tell may it’s supposed to warm? sunny? with blue skies and…best of all…diminished pollen?
instead, its as cloudy and dark as it was last may….
…in this picture, which, incidentally, was taken before sunrise in marseille, france on a quick overnight stop on our way to barcelona.
where the rain slid down the uphill streets. actually, where more than rain slid down the streets… (let’s just say, there weren’t many patches of green for the dogs to do their business. enough said).
where we wandered in the dark in search of our hotel.
where grafitti didn’t just cover the walls of buildings, but also overlapped onto any cars that happened to be parked there at the time.
where after a million-hour un-fed train ride, i ate tinned haricot verts for dinner. with sardines. because by the time we arrived, the shops had closed.
where i used my map of paris as a plate.
where we actually shared a plastic fork. (thank goodness i’d stashed one in my backpack from paris.)
did i mention green beans and sardines never tasted so good?
