Have you read the gorgeous spring edition of Babiekins Magazine? I definitely squealed when I saw the fantastic illustrations Rosy Designs did for my story “Little Miss Green Thumb”!
Thank you, Babiekins Magazine! It’s thrilling to see my name under the “Writers” heading. I’m ecstatic for what this year will bring. (Have you heard, readers? The Fall issue will be in print, like, IN BOOKSTORES!

it’s May.
that means a yard full of roses.
a mason-jar bouquet.
staying up late and sleeping in. coffee and pancakes while watching videos of a rich mullins concert with your hubby.
clean laundry. (well, i’ll work on that one)
a husband who mows the lawn and then sweeps out the garage while asking, what color should we paint the steps, do you think?
buying vintage clothes on eBay for a May wedding.
sunshine and long phone conversations with Mom.
orange shorts and a green tank top.
okay, maybe that last one’s just me…yeah…about the clean laundry thing….anyway, happy May!

i love the little french magazine marie claire idees…and the sister publication marie claire maison. it costs a gazillion dollars to subscribe to them, but you can read issues at barnes & noble or borders….for free!
i adore this window treatment, which i found while clicking around the online version of marie claire maison: le magazine de decoration et de design.

in Paris, this is one of the precious few moments of laughter we found. here, on a playground between the seine and the notre dame, two boys see-saw endlessly in the april sunshine, laughter spilling out and floating into the dusty air, unnoticed by the drawn-faced adults perched stiffly on the scattered benches. their laughter hung in the air like sparkling notes, a burst of green waving from the dried earth, a burst of joy.
i rested my head on the shoulder of my love, relaxed my tired body, and drank it in.
