away from the rows of data and endless reports of the weekday, I find pretty things — in the shape of a fallen leaf, wet from rain and blown against the side of a fence; in the delicate designs curling up around the edge of my coffee mug; in the bold stripes of a nautical pea coat; in the tuft of cat fur on Howard’s back that never lies flat; in the desaturated loveliness of a photographer’s work; in the textures and patterns in a row of pillows in the home decor aisles of Target; in the way the moss grows kelly-green, over the huge rocks outside my bedroom window; in the styling of white-on-white Scandinavian photo shoot spread across two magazine pages…
sometimes these moments are not captured. that’s when i peer through a lens and freeze-frame them and share them with you. sometimes i find that the moments are already alive inside a photograph — i marvel at them, but i haven’t really shared them with anyone. i think i’ll start posting those images here.
